Introduction

Liverpool needs an alternative. For far too long, our vibrant city has been ravaged by the corrupt and incompetent leadership of the Labour Party. Under their rule, we have seen relentless budget cuts that have crippled vital services, and the slashing of public infrastructure.

The Labour Party’s governance has not only failed to address the needs of Liverpool but has actively undermined the prosperity and well-being of our community. Public services, the backbone of our city’s social fabric, have been systematically dismantled, leading to a deterioration in the quality of life.

Our schools, hospitals, and social care systems are under constant strain, and our local businesses suffer under the weight of poor economic policy. It’s clear that the current leadership is out of touch with what really goes on within our communities.

Liverpool Deserves Better – a leadership that is committed to revitalising our city, investing in our communities, and restoring the sense of pride and progress that once defined us.

4-Point Programme

Below is the 4-Point Programme. This strategy is aimed at fundamentally reshaping the sociopolitical structures of Scouse politics, by dismantling the Labour Party’s longstanding dominance over the region. Ultimately, this prioritises transparency, accountability, and community – traits applicable to any viable Alternative for Liverpool.

It’s Time to Assemble! We, as members of the local community must Assemble to realise and tackle the issues affecting our area, regarding issues like housing, public services, and healthcare. A number of residents realise that to create a better living situation for the people, party politics must be set aside. An Independent representative is the best for us.

Our Independent candidate has now been elected to the City Council. With this new platform, we must make the masses aware of Labour’s crimes and corruption, within our Liverpool City Council, the former Mayoral position, as well as the inefficiencies of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, too plagued with Labour dominance.

Masses across Merseyside come to a realisation that Labour is not quite as compassionate as originally conceived. In other words, they’re turning to Independent candidates who put them first, opposed to some pom in Westminster. No need for Rishi, Keir, or Farage – when there’s a like-minded candidate just around the corner.

In the 2024 General Election cycle, there were a large number of Alternative candidates across Liverpool, though few had the capabilities to truly unseat Labour. Click below to view MerseyLeft’s endorsed Alternatives.

The final chapter of Alternative for Liverpool. Labour’s grip over Merseyside has weakened, as residents increasingly turn to the Alternatives – our independent voices.

With these new representatives in both the Council and Parliament, Liverpool’s residents will finally have the voice they’ve longed for. Single-party dominance has faded, replaced by flourishing perspectives from all around the political spectrum.

At last, the city will be led by those who genuinely reflect the will of its people, in a new Alternative direction.
